After graduating from Özyeğin University’s Department of Psychology, Gözde Topgüloğlu Danışman completed her Master’s degree in Psychology, specializing in Couple and Family Therapy at the same university. Her Master’s program is a member of the Training Institutes Chamber of the European Family Therapy Association (EFTA-TIC) and is accredited by the International Family Therapy Association (IFTA). For her Master’s thesis, she investigated the indirect effects of emotional closeness on the relationship between perceived social support from parents-in-law relationships and marital satisfaction. During her education, Gözde gained significant experience with individuals, couples, and families under intensive supervision at the Couple and Family Center established within Özyeğin University. She also gained experience in medical family therapy within the scope of the Association for Combating Duchenne Muscle Disease. In addition, she conducted child-centered play therapy sessions with children between 3 and 6 years old under state protection. Gözde also completed training on Emergency Response Procedure (ERP) and Immediate Stabilization Procedure (ISP) aimed at helping first responders to decrease acute stress reaction. Additionally, she completed EMDR I-II trainings approved by the EMDR International Association (EMDRI) and ICEEFT-approved Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy (I) training. She worked as a research assistant at the European Federation of Psychology Students’ Association (EFPSA) and the Relationship Research Laboratory at Özyeğin University. She also has experience working in non-governmental organizations such as Turkish Psychologists Association, AÇEV, TOÇEV, and YÖRET. Gözde is a member of the Couple and Family Therapy Association and the Turkish Psychologists Association. As a Specialist in Psychology and Couple and Family Therapist, Gözde Topgüloğlu Danışman pursues her career in psychotherapy with individuals, couples, and families using different therapy models with a systemic approach.
